JOIN THE BRANDLAND TEAM

we’re looking for a community manager!

Major news: Brandland will be launching Brand Studies Major for the second time this fall—and we’re looking for a special someone to join the team as our Community Manager. Are you in or are you in?

WHO WE ARE

Brandland is an educational platform and community where game-changing founders are made. We are known for our flagship course, Brand Studies Major, which will launch for the second time this fall. This course is designed for founders who are navigating the fast-growing, highly competitive landscapes of fashion, wellness, beauty, freelance services, and more. You won’t find outdated strategies and references to decades old businesses that would’ve been relevant 15 years ago. Our curriculum is tailored to what’s required to be successful as a new business entering these fields today.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a self-driven, detail-oriented, digitally savvy person to join our team as Brandland’s Community Manager. You will work closely with our Project Manager, serving as the lead for nurturing our online community and keeping our students engaged with the course content through prompts, discussions, newsletters, and more.

  • Time: This role requires around 10 hours per month.

    Compensation: $40/hour

Location: This is a remote position. Preference for US-based candidates, but open to anywhere where time zone differences will not severely limit opportunities for real-time collaboration.

  • • Build relationships with the Brand Studies Major community

    • Respond to comments and questions from students in a timely manner

    • Create engaging weekly prompts/challenges/polls in our community hub, The Lab

    • Send out weekly newsletters through Flodesk with course updates, announcements, and roundups of weekly favorites (brands, websites, resources, reads, etc.)

    • Attend and record live group coaching calls and guest talks and post them to the Notion Dashboard & The Lab

    • Send out reminders for group coaching calls and guest talks in The Lab

    • Make updates to our Notion Dashboard as needed

    • Support with special experiences as needed (ex: gifts, events, etc.)

    • Lightly support with social media content creation (help generate ideas, curate memes and trends, and some caption writing)

WHO YOU ARE

A great fitting Community Manager gets jazzed about going the extra mile to create an inclusive, positive space for people. You have strong communication and writing skills and can work independently. You’re enthusiastic and love engaging with an audience to nurture an intimate community and provide excellent customer service. You have high standards for the work you do and take pride in being detail-oriented. You’re excited to work on a team that works primarily with women of color founders and contribute to our mission to uplift and close the resource gap for women of color in the entrepreneurship space.

  • • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

    • Time management, high level of organization, and professional communication

    • Able to present yourself authentically online and capture our brand voice and messaging

    • Past experience as a community manager, assistant, or project manager is helpful

    • Bonus if you’re interested in social media management

are you DOWN to team up?

HOW TO APPLY

Please send the following information to hello@thebranddoula.co with the subject line “Community Manager”:

  • Cover Email (we really don’t care about cover letters and resumes, but we do want to get to know you a little and learn about your background in this field)

  • If you’ve made it this far, tell us one favorite brand you follow on social media and why you follow them.

If you’ve been selected for an interview, we will notify you via email. If you do not hear from us within 2 weeks, we have reviewed your application and thank you for your time and effort. We will keep your application in mind for future opportunities!
